FAQ
Everything You Need To Know
What’s the difference between perspex and acrylic?
Perspex is actually a brand name for acrylic sheet, much like how “Esky” is used for coolers. Both are made from the same material—PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate)—and offer the same properties: strong, lightweight, shatter-resistant and UV stable.
Is acrylic a good alternative to glass?
It depends on the use. Acrylic is lighter, safer and more impact-resistant than glass, which makes it ideal for areas where safety or weight is a concern—like around kids, at height, or in transport.
Can I drill holes into a perspex sheet?
Yes, but you need to use the right drill bits and go slowly to avoid cracking. Use a plastic or acrylic-specific bit, and don’t force it. Pre-drilling or using a step drill works best.
